Many of you know my staff member Stephanie Holm. She has worked in my office for nearly four years on constituent services, with neighborhood associations and on the Council Agendas. After four years Stephanie is moving on. I am sad to see Stephanie go but am pleased to know she will leave us for bigger and better things. Stephanie will be attending the University of California, Hastings Law School in San Francisco! Stephanie has the desire to study criminal law and I know she will excel there as she has excelled here in the District 10 Office.

Stephanie has set high standards of excellence through her work over the years. It is going to be difficult without her but we have two new staff members eagerly awaiting the challenge—Lauren Profeit and Joseph Sanchez!

Lauren was born and raised in Silicon Valley. She is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, and the University of Southern California, where she earned a Master of Public Policy degree. Prior to joining my staff, Lauren worked for Jerry Hill, a member of the California State Assembly.

Joseph was raised in San Jose and is a long time resident of Almaden. Joseph received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Santa Clara University and worked as a Public Relations Specialist at the Santa Clara Valley Water District while in college. After attending Santa Clara University, Joseph worked as an Assistant Paralegal for a successful corporate immigration law firm in Santa Clara. Joseph has also been actively involved in various political campaigns and currently volunteers for a number of non-profits in San Jose.

I am very excited for Stephanie, Lauren and Joseph. Please join me in wishing them all good luck on their new adventures!

All the best,

Nancy Pyle, Councilmember

The meetings are once a month on the second Wednesday starting at 6:30 PM.
Visit www.sanjoseca.gov/Clerk/commissionboard/nc/nc.asp to read

The San Jose City Council will be accepting applications until filled. The Civil Service Commission makes recommendations to the City Council and the City Manager and conducts investigations concerning the administration of personnel in the Classified Service. The Commission acts as an appellate body for personnel decisions affecting City employees and applicants, reviews and recommends changes to Civil Service regulations and appoints members to the City Council Salary Setting Commission. Major Printing Company Relocates its Production to San Jose!
Southwest Offset Printing, one of California's largest privately-owned printers, signed a new 10-year lease with AMB Property Corporation for a 68,502-square-foot facility, located in North San Jose. The San Jose Redevelopment Agency worked with the City of San Jose, AMB and Cornish and Carey Commercial, to help facilitate Southwest's move from Redwood City to San Jose's Enterprise Zone. The Company chose North San Jose for its production headquarters for Northern California because of the City's Enterprise Zone program, which allows Southwest to take advantage of various tax credits and deductions. "Southwest Offset Printing, bringing more than 100 jobs to San Jose, demonstrates how the Enterprise Zone program is such an effective tool in retaining jobs and creating new jobs," said Harry Mavrogenes, Executive Director, San Jose Redevelopment Agency. "This company is one of many companies our Agency was able to recruit this year as a result of this economic development tool."
